Is the Internet Really Rotting?
The Internet has been historically a great equalizer, but in recent years and months, it’s getting the reputation of being where the worst of the worst go. From “fake news” to censorship to international hackers, the Internet doesn’t feel like the safe place we once thought it to be. The World Wide Web has become dehumanized, as a compilation of code, bits and bytes created by technology giants. There is a growing grassroots component to the Internet, found in many open source and open standards communities, and the people behind it are working on making the web better for society.
