Between wildfires in California and ice storms in Texas in the past year, power grids all over the U.S. have been tested and failed. Now, a new partnership between the City of Palo Alto and tech company VMware is testing the potential of microgrids to advance resiliency at the community and corporate level. A microgrid as a local energy grid that can disconnect from the traditional grid and operate autonomously.
