Superfónicos at Hotel Vegas
Superfónicos is the musical meeting point between Colombia, Africa and the U.S. Their music pays homage to all three locales with a foundation in Cumbia, sprinkled with healthy doses of Afrobeat and marinated in the school of funk. The eight piece act has received critical praise for their debut EP Suelta from Rolling Stone, NPR, Billboard, PRI The World, PopMatters, Afropop, and more.
Their EP and handful of singles have all been met with critical acclaim and featured on prominent Spotify playlists, pushing streams to over 500,000 plays and counting. The band is currently recording new music at Electric Deluxe Studios, owned and operated by GRAMMY winning artist and producer Adrian Quesada of the Black Pumas. They were also recently featured on BBC World News (https://youtu.be/8nocAvGNGJ4) promoting ACL Fest and Austin, the live music capitol of the world!
Don’t miss the chance to catch what NPR calls, “Lively, dynamic, colorful, full sound blending funk, cumbia, merengue…Commanding sound and presence with great vocals and harmonies," when the scorching eight-piece Colombian Funk band performs at this year's SXSW.
