Papazian at The Hideout
PAPAZIAN (Haig Papazian) is a Lebanese Armenian multidisciplinary artist, composer, and musician born in Beirut and currently based out of NYC.
He is the founding member and violinist of Mashrou’ Leila, the Lebanese band whose electro-pop anthems about political freedom, race, gender and modern Arabic identity have challenged the status quo of the Middle-Eastern music industry. Alongside Mashrou Leila, Papazian has released four studio albums, collaborated with artists like Hercules and Love Affair, Yo-Yo Ma, and Joe Goddard, performed at iconic venues (L’olympia, Roundhouse, Paradiso, Bowery Ballroom, 9:30 club…) and played at festivals around the world, including Montreux Jazz, Rock en Seine, Pop Montreal, All points East, Lowlands to name a few.
at SXSW2022 music festival showcase, PAPAZIAN will present a new archival/experimental electro-folk project.
