Mong Tong

Date TBA

The psychedelic experimental duo Mong Tong, formed by the brothers of nature-based psychedelic group Prairie WWWW guitarist Hom Yu, and Dope Purple guitarist Jiun Chi. Growing up with “relaxing Chinese synth pop”, video game soundtracks and psychedelic rock music, the creations of Mong Dong are filled with elements of their obsession with Taiwanese occult art and retro superstitious imagery, with themes ranging from folklore to aliens. On debut album “Mystery 秘神'' these inspirations combine with the dark humour of Taiwanese folklore and a love of conspiracy theories to form what they describe as “a psychedelic journey to the east.” “Mystery” elected by NME as one of the best Asian albums of 2020 and reviewed as a "multi-layered", "psychedelic" and "mysterious album".
Mong Tong has released a new single 'Minyo Pop' at the beginning of 2022, and and they are also predicting a new album "Taoists' Fire 道火 " to follow.
