Suzan-Lori Parks
Suzan-Lori Parks is the first African-American woman to receive a Pulitzer Prize in Drama, for her play “Topdog/Underdog,” and is a MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient. Her credits include “The Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess” (Tony Award winner) and “Father Comes Home from the Wars” Pulitzer Prize finalist). She has written screenplays for Spike Lee, Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington and others. She is the showrunner, head-writer and executive producer on “Genius: Aretha.”
