Ronaldo Lemos is a lawyer and professor specializing in technology policy, with twenty-five years of experience in both the private and public sectors. Dr. Lemos has served as a Visiting Scholar at Oxford, Princeton, the MIT Media Lab, and as a Visiting Professor at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) in New York, as well as at the Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He co-created Brazil's Internet Bill of Rights Law (2014) and Brazil's National IoT Plan (2018), and has served on the boards of the Mozilla Foundation, Access Now, and other non-profit organizations. Currently, he serves on Meta’s Oversight Board, the Stellar Development Foundation, and Spotify’s Safety Advisory Council. Previously, Dr. Lemos was Vice-President of the Social Communication Council in Brazil's National Congress. He writes weekly about law and technology for Folha de S. Paulo, one of Brazil's most widely read newspapers, and is a member of the paper's editorial council. Recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, he is also the writer and host of the award-winning documentary series “Expresso Futuro,” which is broadcast by Canal Futura, Fantastico, and Globoplay. Now in its 7th season, the series earned him the best documentary prize at the Sichuan TV Festival, one of the largest in Asia.
