Panelists Jesselyn Radack (whistleblower attorney), Thomas Drake (NSA whistleblower,) and J. William Leonard (“Secrecy Czar” in the George W. Bush administration,) talk about the origin and misapplication of the 1917 Espionage Act and discuss previous cases, including those of Edward Snowden, Thomas Drake and Reality Winner, a former NSA contractor who blew the whistle on Russian interference in the 2016 election and received the longest sentence ever imposed in federal court for disclosing classified information to the media.
