How can state lawmakers legalize cannabis for recreational use in a way that actually works in practice (not just in concept)? The first states to legalize offer regulatory models that could serve as templates of what works, and what doesn’t. During this panel, we aim to identify the features of an ideal cannabis market, one that satisfies the needs and desires of businesses, consumers, and government, with a focus on social equity and justice. We will also discuss what’s next at the federal level now that the majority of Americans support legalization, and how that will impact the states.
