Chris Strachwitz

Chris Strachwitz came to US as a refugee from Germany 1947, starting Arhoolie Records (now at Smithsonian) 1960. For 60 years he produced 100s of recordings of regional music he loves: blues, Mexican, Cajun/Zydeco, country, gospel, etc. He produced Chulas Fronteras with Les Blank (SXSW 2019). Today he runs the public Arhoolie Foundation.
