Chelsea McCullough

Chelsea explores the connection between urban decision making and prioritizing resident perspectives. Her focus on ethical AI and smart cities centers around initiatives that prioritize inclusive, collaborative approaches. She is the Founder of Digi.City, a forum for smart cities and the social good. She also serves as Editor-At-Large for Smart Cities Connect and is a Researcher for Good Systems, a UT Grand Challenge dedicated to ethical AI. Chelsea is pursuing her PhD at the School of Information (iSchool) at The University of Texas at Austin (exp. May 2026). She is also an NSF NRT Fellow in the Ethical AI Portfolio Program. Chelsea is a Simon Industrial Fellow (Univ of Manchester, UK), a GMF Marshall Memorial Fellow, and an Eisenhower Fellow. She lives in Austin, Texas.
