Steven Renderos is the Co-Director of MediaJustice where he’s led the advocacy efforts of the organization for the past 7 years. Under his leadership, MJ's won campaigns that have made phone calls from prisons more affordable, the Internet more open and affordable, and held large tech platforms like Facebook accountable. Steven’s been an organizer for more than 15 years with roots in the housing rights, racial justice and immigrant rights movements.
Previously, Steven led the MediaJustice program at Main Street Project in Minneapolis, MN where he launched a local coalition, Twin Cities Community Radio, that built two low-power FM radio stations. Steven is also the co-founder of Radio Pocho, a collaborative of Latinx radio DJs who produce a weekly multilingual radio program at KFAI, a non-commercial radio station in Minneapolis.
