Taketo Sugawara
Taketo is a Director of Startup Incubation and Entrepreneurship Education at The University of Tokyo, Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Division of University Corporate Relations.
In his role, he has incubated more than 100 university startups and taught entrepreneurship to more than 3,000 students. He is co-founder of “Todai to Texas” and he has brought 50 startup project to SXSW Trade Show from The University of Tokyo since 2014. In SXSW 2017, one of the project “BionicM” which is a robotic prosthesis development team was awarded SXSW Interactive Innovation Awards under the Student Innovation Category. In SXSW 2020, one of the project "Grubin" - a food recycling box with Black Soldier Fly has also been selected as a finalist for SXSW Innovation Awards under the Climate, Culture & Social Impact category.
