Derica Peters
Derica is a city planner with the City of Austin Planning and Zoning Department. She aims to practice planning with a holistic approach that is strengthened with the strategic use of data and smart mapping techniques. Prior to joining the City of Austin in 2018, Derica worked for a Metropolitan Planning Organization where she worked on environmental permitting and public outreach campaigns. Derica holds a Master’s Degree in City and Regional Planning and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from The University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from The University of North Texas. In her free time you may find her at yoga, hiking, or walking dogs as a volunteer at Austin Pets Alive
