Anna Bogutskaya
Anna Bogutskaya is a freelance film programmer, writer, and podcaster. In the past, she worked at Pedro Almodóvar’s El Deseo, ran the UK’s largest online filmmaker’s network, Shooting People, and was the Film and Events Programmer at the BFI. During her time at the BFI, she programmed major film seasons on female friendships, unlikeable female characters, digital aesthetics, nineties cinema and many more. She also curated the monthly strand Woman With A Movie Camera, which she developed into a flagship annual summit. She is also co-founder of programming collective The Final Girls, which explores the intersections between horror and feminism. Currently she is Festival Director of BAFTA-recognised Underwire Festival, the UK’s largest film festival celebrating female film talent. Anna also writes about film and has contributed essays to several books. As a podcaster, she co-hosts the BFI’s film podcast, The Bigger Picture, hosts The Final Girls podcast and regularly contributes to Evolution of Horror.
