Iain Dodgeon is Director of OKRE: Opening Knowledge across Research and Entertainment, a new hub of expertise incubated at the Wellcome Trust bringing together research, entertainment and personal lived experience. He previously led Wellcome’s activities in broadcast, games and film, delivering a programme of industry collaboration including the Wellcome Screenwriting Fellowship in partnership with BFI and Film4, The Big Data VR Challenge with Epic Games and Experimental Stories with BBC Radio 4. He pioneered its work with the games industry, supporting the creation of many multi-award-winning games that engaged people with ideas in health and research, including Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, David O’Reilly’s Everything and citizen science game, Sea Hero Quest. He previously worked as a medical doctor and as a TV producer at companies including Endemol, STV and BBC.
