Priyanka Khimani is co-founder and lead partner of Anand & Anand & Khimani, a full service law firm based out of Mumbai, India. Best known for her unmatched legal expertise in the Indian entertainment space, Priyanka represents a glowing roster of Indian and international stakeholders. Her clientele is studded with some of the most celebrated names in film, tv and music, including international record labels, publishers, distribution companies, studios, streaming and social media platforms, Emmy-nominated film-makers and show runners, as well as Oscar and Grammy winners, among others.
Her legal counsel is defined by a profound understanding of the modern media and entertainment space, placing her in a unique position to advise on issues relevant to the industry today. Such issues include navigating the nuances of the copyright and licensing landscape in India, transparency and accountability of PROs, cross-border transactions, strategic collaborations,
content creation and ownership, valuation and protection of technology and IP assets.
Priyanka finds a lot of her drive in causes outside of the legal industry. She is the founding chairperson for the Indian Chapter of ‘Women In Music’, a global not-for-profit organization dedicated to championing the female voice across global music spaces.
Prior to pursuing a career in the legal discipline, Priyanka used to write for television, theatre, as well as radio, and also briefly dabbled in modelling. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, music and networking with like-minded individuals – continually in pursuit of building interest
communities around relevant subjects.
