Michael Monteleone
Mr. Michael C. Monteleone III was appointed to the Senior Executive Service in August 2018. He currently serves as the Director of the Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate (S&TCD), under the U.S. Army’s Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC); Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
In this capacity, he is responsible for planning and executing the Army’s science and technology investments in resilient, survivable military communications, autonomous and intelligent networking, network situational understanding, cyber electromagnetic activities and cyber defense. Mr. Monteleone also leads his organization in their research, development and engineering support to the Army Program Executive Offices, Project Managers and the Life-Cycle Management Command communities. He is responsible for directing programs with an annual budget of $200M and a staff of approximately 700.
Prior to joining the Senior Executive Service, Mr. Monteleone served as the Acting Chief for the Satellite Communications System Division in the S&TCD CCDC C5ISR Center (previously known as the Communications-Electronic Research, Development and Engineering Center, or CERDEC).
From November 2017 to February 2018, Mr. Monteleone served as the Acting Director, S&TCD CCDC C5ISR Center and served as the Acting Deputy Director, S&TCD CCDC C5ISR Center from May to September 2017.
Mr. Monteleone’s prior assignments include: Chief, Cyber Security and Information Assurance Division, CCDC C5ISR Center from September 2014 to August 2017 and Chief, Tactical Networks Branch, CCDC C5ISR Center from March 2011 to September 2014 at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
