Lisa Russell, MPH is an Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker who has 15+ years producing films and curating creative events that lie at the intersection of arts, social justice and global development.

An established global speaker and thought leader, she is a SheDecides Global Champion, two-time TEDx speaker, UN/NGO contracted storyteller and arts curator, Fulbright Specialist, writer and is a regular presenter at film festivals, storytelling summits, leading universities, international conferences and youth leadership programs.

Lisa is the Founder and CEO of Create2030, a growing network of diverse artists and storytellers committed to using their talents as "brand activators" for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), for gender equality for climate change and others. Create2030 builds partnerships with UN/NGO agencies, multilateral organizations and social impact brands. The network includes filmmakers, musicians, poets, DJs, immersive storytellers, 360/VR producers and more. She advocates for sustainable solutions for the growing creative economy as well as giving artists a seat at decision-making tables.

Lisa is of Chinese/Mongolian descent and is the first in her family to graduate from college. She has been active in promoting diversity and inclusion of artists in the global health and development space. Her base is in Brooklyn, NY but spends a lot of her time seeking new experiences and building her network in other regions including SE Asia and East Africa.
