Callan Bignoli
Callan began her library career as webmaster for the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, where she had the opportunity to assist with technology planning, outreach, and the state’s public library construction program. In her role at the Public Library of Brookline, she managed the physical technical infrastructure and online presence of three libraries, continually advocating for improved systems and technology offerings with a special focus on usability and user experience. She will take over as library director at Olin College of Engineering in July 2019.
Callan has regularly presented on user experience and technology topics at state, regional, and national conferences and has delivered numerous guest lectures at the Simmons College School of Library & Information Science in Boston. She strives to democratize public access to new skills and forms of information while also providing staff with the tools and training they need to stay nimble and well-equipped.
