Evan Wolfson

Evan Wolfson, who is often called the “architect” of the marriage equality movement, outlined his vision and strategy for achieving the historic victory in his 1983 thesis at Harvard Law School. He founded and led the Freedom to Marry campaign and authored Why Marriage Matters: America, Equality, and Gay People's Right to Marry. Time magazine listed him as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.
