Doug Hattaway

Doug Hattaway is president of Hattaway Communications, a strategic communications firm with a mission to help visionary leaders and organizations use the power of strategy, science, and storytelling to achieve ambitious goals that benefit people and the planet. The firm serves high-profile leaders in politics and government, major nonprofit brands, top foundations, major universities, and purpose-driven businesses. He is passionate about adapting insights and innovations from the social sciences to enhance the power of strategic communications. He studied journalism at Northwestern University and served as a speechwriter for a Member of Congress, before working as a foreign correspondent in South America and earning his master’s degree in creative writing at Florida State University. He was the spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, and served as a spokesperson and adviser to political leaders such as Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vice President Al Gore.
