Jennifer Lyon Bell

Founder, creative director
Blue Artichoke Films

The founder/director of Blue Artichoke Films (Amsterdam), Jennifer creates award-winning erotic fiction films and documentaries that illuminate the riveting, intimate, and sometimes delightfully awkward side of sex. They screen at film festivals, art exhibits, and cinemas throughout America, Europe, Japan, and South America, and their unique realism has led to them being featured at conferences in diverse fields ranging from sexology to feminism to documentary.

Her Virtual Reality 360º 3D erotic experience SECOND DATE was nominated for Best Erotic VR Experience at the Raindance London film festival and screened worldwide at VR/documentary film festivals including CPH*DOX, her erotic game film ADORN was the first ever adult film to win sexology’s Sex & Media Prize award, and her film HEADSHOT was screened by a philosopher in Europe on primetime television to half a million viewers. Her work has been covered in Vice, BBC, Broadly, Buzzfeed, and Playboy.

In addition to filmmaking, she curates erotic-themed film programs and exhibitions for museums, arts institutions, and festivals worldwide, teaches her erotic filmmaking workshop “From Fantasy To Film: Design Your Own Erotic Movie” everywhere from national film academies to feminist squats, lectures at academic conferences about sympathy/empathy and erotic film, and writes about sexuality and film.
