Jen Gunter
Dr. Jen Gunter is an OB/GYN and pain medicine physician. She graduated from medical school at the University of Manitoba in 1990, from her residency in OB/GYN at Western University in 1995, and subsequently completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of Kansas. In addition to practicing OB/GYN in the San Francisco Bay Area she is a New York Times columnist, host of the CBC digital health series Jensplaining, and author of The Preemie Primer (2010) and The Vagina Bible (2019). In addition to her academic publications, her writing has also appeared in a range of publications including The New Republic, The Hill, Chatelaine, and USA Today. Her academic work focuses on chronic vaginitis, vulvar dermatoses, and women’s pelvic pain condition.
