Julianna Ianni

Julianna Ianni is a Director of AI Research at Proscia with over a decade of experience in biotechnology. At Proscia, she is using powerful predictive networks to illuminate patterns that humans aren’t capable of seeing in medical images. Julianna is leading development of methods to use AI in pathology to make patient diagnosis faster and more accurate. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 2017, developing methods that enable faster and safer MRI. Having previously worked on research measuring the brain’s electrical response during visual memory tasks, she’s fascinated and inspired by our own fleshy neural networks. She enjoys learning and talking about anything and everything related to harnessing AI to make impactful and responsible medical decisions. In her “free time,” you’ll find her attempting paddleboard yoga and daydreaming ways to automate things that get in the way of life.
