Shelby Comstock Britten is a cofounder and the creative director of Rainhouse Music & Sound Design in NYC. She partners with her husband, composer Alex Britten (LEGO Ninjago, VICE). Rainhouse makes music for film, TV, ads and video games. Rainhouse also works with emerging artists, releasing curated singles and EPs. Shelby is responsible for creative direction of all original content, producing the release of original songs via Rainhouse Records, and liaising with agency producers and film directors on all projects which include global brands like Facebook, Wendy’s, and Nespresso.
Before launching Rainhouse in 2018, Shelby worked with music houses to grow and develop TV and ad business, licensing hundreds of songs and managing a collective of composers, songwriters and audio engineers. Most previously, Shelby was a producer and studio manager of BANG Music & Audio Post, an award winning NYC studio. During her tenure, she worked on shows such as Ink Master, VOGUE: 73 Questions, Finding Escobar’s Millions and assisted in music supervision for clients like Angry Orchard, Sam Adams, and Go90’s Every Single Step.
