Michael Blair
Michael Blair is an American musician/composer/writer/teacher living in Stockholm, Sweden. As a percussionist/drummer, he has been fortunate to contribute to breakthrough records with Tom Waits (Rain Dogs, Franks Wild Years, BigTime), Elvis Costello (King of America, Spike), Lou Reed (Magic and Loss), poet Allen Ginsberg (The Lion for Real), Hugh Laurie (Let Them Talk), and many more.
Michael presents workshops and events focused on unlocking creativity and promoting collaboration, communication, and productivity. He can turn a room full of strangers into a room full of new companies in a short period of time.
His background as a performer and teacher has helped him develop decades worth of relationships with friends and colleagues to whom he can ask for guidance. And recommend to people looking for partners. These include artists, songwriters, publishers, festival and conference coordinators, leaders of international music agencies, high level artist managers, media music supervisors, environmental research agencies, political activists, and more.
Michael has a long and happy history with Austin and SXSW. For 2020, he is connecting city/culture/event leaders from Sweden to local/regional companies, start-ups, the City of Austin, SAS/House of Scandinavia and more.
