The Era of Narcissism, Entitlement, and Incivility
Don’t You Know Who I Am? has become the mantra of the famous and infamous, the entitled and the insecure. It’s the tagline of the modern narcissist. This session provides an overview of Dr. Durvasula’s book Don’t You Know Who I Am? How to Stay Sane in an Era of Narcissism, Entitlement and Incivility. It is rare to meet someone who has not been hurt by a narcissist. In a time when incivility is normalized, and entitlement in incentivized, how are we supposed to get through the days without losing ourselves? Health and wellness campaigns preach avoidance of unhealthy foods, but rarely avoidance of unhealthy people. The benefits of removing toxic people from your life may in fact be more beneficial. This book provides a framework for what went wrong in our world, and how to survive.
