Deaf Entrepreneurs: Stories That Change Perception
An inside look at the CSD Social Venture Fund, the nation's first venture fund for deaf owned and operated businesses generating social impact. We tell of its genesis; primary goal of changing societal attitudes and perceptions about who deaf people are and what they are capable of achieving; who some of our partnering entrepreneurs are; their successes and impact. This session will broaden how you think of and define entrepreneurship, diversity, leadership, and what investment means. We explain our rationale for selecting specific companies in varying stages of development, demonstrating the various ways social-minded companies and their investors can amplify and accelerate social change in greater society through focus on enhancing the social and economic standing of the deaf community.
