The Gravity of Space Junk

Date TBA

Commercial rockets and CubeSats allow us to launch satellites into space at a record-breaking pace, bringing Earth everything from faster internet to more accurate GPS. However, flying alongside them at speeds up to 22,300 mph are more than half a million shards of space junk (aka space debris) that vandalize anything they contact. There’s more: too much space debris cluttering up our skies will turn our world into Wall-E’s, where almost nothing gets in or out. How might space junk impact our everyday life? How will it hinder humanity’s exploration of space? What can we do about it?
