Indigenous Storytellers & Digital Natives
Breakdances With Wolves is taking millennia-old traditions of oral storytelling and marrying them to modern means, creating a platform to create the next generation of Digital Natives. From podcasting, to recording & archiving oral histories, to documentary films and other projects, the focus is amplifying Native voices and creating new opportunities for marginalized communities on wholly independent platforms. Production & distribution have never been cheaper and informational know-how more accessible, so groups who couldn’t traditionally be heard, can now establish resilient global networks which are entirely self-reliant. BDWW’s proof of concept show has spawned an ecosystem of digital media efforts that provide a roadmap for others who want to build independent media agencies.
