3D Public Servants: The Courage to Be Human
All of our aspirational stories – from the Odyssey to Star Wars – follow the same formula: a character enters the world, makes mistakes, overcomes obstacles, and emerges changed. But every day, our own leaders and public servants are denied the same opportunity to grow and evolve. They're pressured to be two-dimensional, flattened down to a cause and the work they do to achieve it. There's no room for doubt, vulnerability, or compromise – and it's hurting our ability to tackle pressing challenges. In this session, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President Mary C. Daly will explore how public servants can serve the common good by leading in three dimensions.
