What's Your Soundtrack? How Music Marks Our Lives
Everyone knows that feeling. A song comes on, and it instantly transports you back to a moment in time. The first dance at your wedding, the melody your mom sang to you as a child, the song you had on repeat during a summer road trip. Right now, more than 5 million Americans are losing these moments to Alzheimer’s disease—a number projected to rise to nearly 14 million by 2050. The Alzheimer’s Association has teamed up with award-winning, multi-genre artists for “Music Moments,” a digital project that includes an album and video series centered on how music connects us to life’s most important moments and brings us together to create change.
Attendees will learn how music can spark a public conversation about this global health crisis and connect us to moments that we never want to lose.
