Featured Session: What A Time To Be Alive
From longtime panelist/songwriter Mac McCaughan: "People write songs for different reasons. Processing the fucked-up world outside. Processing what the world does to the inside of your head. Turning the good and the bad in there into music & hoping that someone else can relate to it. Or just writing songs without really knowing why until their written. It's not mysterious at all but also hard to talk about in any concrete way once you get beyond the names of the chords & the words. Do you really want to know the story behind your favorite songs?" Join us for our 8th year of stories, performances, collaborations and inspiration. Did you ever wonder how a song comes into being? How much of it is inspiration vs. perspiration? First time panelist Beabadoobee will be joining Britt Daniel, Matthew Caws and Mac McCaughan as they attempt to deconstruct the mystery of the songwriting process, while also performing some of your favorites. In fact, the brilliant new Nada Surf single "So Much Love" was written by Matthew on the eve of last year's panel. Who knows what masterpieces will emerge from this year's gathering!
