Overcoming Gender Bias in a Limited Capital Industry

Please be aware that cannabis and related laws vary. Programming in this track is designed to inform attendees about this fast-changing industry, and does not promote the use or sale of illegal drugs.

Amy and Julia will discuss the challenges of not only raising money in an emerging industry, but doing it as a female founder. In a space that already has limited capital and no access to traditional funding sources, they will explore how women can overcome gender bias in their fundraising. Focusing on a discussion of equity, women in executive positions, changing the gender parity of Boards and raising capital under extraordinary conditions, they will share their personal experiences and lean into what is working both in outside of cannabis to support female founder and entrepreneurs.
