Homeland Insecurity Podcast from RAICES

In the documentary podcast Homeland Insecurity, from RAICES and Neon Hum, we explore the roots of the Department of Homeland Security, and how an agency created to protect us from terrorism has instead been weaponized against immigrants. Host Erika Andiola, a leader of the Undocumented Youth Movement, asks how she and immigrants like her became the enemy. The first eight episodes take us from the creation of DHS in the aftermath of 9/11 to the present day, when we see families separated at the border and and a near-total ban on asylum. In the process, we'll examine how, as a country, we have allowed tyranny to slip in through the back door. The ninth episode, a live discussion at SXSW, asks how we can course correct and restore the values upon which this country was founded.
