The current discussions on diversity in the entertainment industry has overwhelmingly been limited to the perspective of those names and faces we see on screen. Rarely do we speak about it from the perspective of those doing the leg work behind the scenes who represent entertainers, negotiate fair deals and foster future work. This conversation explores the current state of diversity amongst agents, attorneys, mangers and publicists in Hollywood and offers practical solutions for ensuring more Black agents, attorneys, managers and publicists are being hired by entertainment professionals as well as studios, networks, agencies and firms.
