What VR Can Do To Preserve Disappearing Cultures

Every two weeks a language falls silent. This talk explores how immersive storytelling techniques may be applied to archive and preserve some of the worlds endangered languages. We dive into the creation of a VR project titled Kusunda, a docu-fiction VR experience that invites you to speak an endangered indigenous language by meeting its last speaker. This story of loss -- and hope -- allows the Kusunda community to demonstrate the importance of preserving indigenous languages and cultures.
