Between 2015-2018, veganism in the US grew by 600%. As consumers continue educating themselves about the impacts of animal consumption on health, the environment and the well-being of animals, it will become increasingly important for businesses to rise to meet demand of plant based alternatives: The vegan lifestyle is reshaping the food industry as we know it. Big business has already recognized the trend, answering consumer demand with more plant-based meat & cheese alternatives, but what about small businesses? This presentation will illustrate the ways local and small-to-medium-sized enterprises can meet demand, join the fight for saving the environment and consciously capitalize on this important societal change, without sacrificing their vision or breaking the bank.
