Conscious Consumption in the Experience Economy

Today’s consumer is conflicted. From the anti-plastic movement to the backlash against fast fashion’s throwaway culture to our ever-growing demand for convenience, we’re increasingly conscious of the effects of our consumption. Yet our desire to consume new things, flavors and experiences — exactly how and when we want to — is limitless. This panel, moderated by actor, activist and UN Ambassador Adrian Grenier will debate the rise of conscious consumption in the “experience everything” economy. Are experiences superseding the importance of ownership? How are new business models, from the on-demand economy to the rise of subscription businesses to the circular economy, changing our consumption habits for the better?
