This presentation addresses the history of the connections between the fashion and aerospace industries, tracking the evolution up to today and setting up a proposed framework for their continued collaboration. Parsons School of Design facutly member Lee Anderson will discuss current technology, design examples, and systems that are of shared interest to both industries, and why. She will also identify a new segment of the fashion industry, that acts as a bridge with technology and science. The presentation will conclude with a perspective on why it is critical that this fashion community be a part of the larger scientific conversation.
