Inside Key Art: The Faces Behind The Posters

Date TBA

Art

Posters play an essential role in the marketing of movies. They are a true art form, needing to capture the essence of the film they advertise in one single, arresting image. Teaser sheets intrigue the potential audience by not giving away too much, main theatrical posters use a coded visual language and subtle techniques to convey film genre and main themes, and festival posters allow designers to let loose creatively. Yves Peters, author of ScreenFonts, the long-running online series of movie poster reviews, invites Palaceworks’ Caelin White, Phantom City Creative’s Justin Erickson, and Yen Tan a.k.a. Otto Is The One to discuss their art and career.
