Visualizing Shared Musical Experience
How can we collect information about how performers and listeners think and feel together during a live musical performance? What can visualizing that information reveal about the interaction that develops among a group of people during a live, shared musical experience? Notes on Perspective is a music application that visualizes these insights by reconstructing the thoughts and feelings which occurred during a classical musical performance at The New School’s Mannes School of Music in New York City. Discover how an inspired collaboration at The New School led to an innovative research study design and machine-learning model that visualizes thoughts and feelings. Participate in a live re-enactment of the experiment.
