Robotics for Well-Being

Robotics for Well-Being

Takeshi Ando, PhD, has been leading the Panasonic's experimental robotics project called "Aug Lab", as a researcher on human-machine (robot) interaction. He will introduce his project and discuss with panel of industry specialists about the improvement of quality of life and the use of robot technology for well-being. Conventional robot technology has been used mainly for factory automation, and it contributed to improve efficiency and productivity. In the future, robot technology called "augmentation" is expected to improve the quality of life of people. His project aims to realize the well-being of individuals and society by combining "automation" and "augmentation".
