Build, Not Buy: The Future of Health Innovation
It’s often said that big companies can’t innovate, while startups struggle to stay on track as they grow. But by acquiring these startups outright, sometimes the continued development of an innovative solution gets stalled inside larger organizations. Now, a new collaborative model is rapidly emerging to help both achieve their goals. By offering incubator space, mentorship, venture funding and licensing deals, large companies are enabling development of innovative healthcare solutions, while startups retain their ownership. This panel will address global problems in healthcare today – from managing chronic digestive conditions to smoking cessation – and how working with big pharma has helped successfully move from idea to proof of concept to reality.
