A World Without Non-Communicable Diseases?
Imagine a world without cancer, diabetes and heart disease. These and other chronic conditions collectively known as non-communicable diseases (NCDs) would not attribute to over 70% of deaths worldwide. They would have been eradicated, declaring triumph on what was the #1 cause of death and disability around the world. How can we make this victory a reality?
In this session we will discuss the global health threat NCDs pose, which is projected to increase drastically by 2025, and successful initiatives such as the Global Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Program that aim to fight NCDs by helping to fill urgent gaps in healthcare in the countries that need it the most.
