21st century threats are raising the bar for public and private sector collaboration. Industry advances in automation, artificial intelligence, and biometrics have greatly increased the public sector’s capacity to process large data sets, manage risk, and drive efficiencies. But emerging threats require new training to ensure our workforce is aligned to meet the challenge. DHS is leading the conversation on new skills and training to ensure an agile, responsive, and adaptive security posture. Industry, government, and academia must develop shared perspective to advance and invest in research and development, STEM and STEM-related skills, and new tech to secure the continued growth of our workforce and local, regional, national, and global economies.
