We can all make tweet-worthy technology that impresses for a moment, but how much of it creates meaningful, positive change in everyday lives? Unless we begin with an authentic human need in mind, our self-serving innovations are doomed to be mildly interesting, but quickly forgotten. But innovating around business purpose and human experience, thinking in both blue sky and business value modes, you have a good chance of creating something big.
Finding what’s painful — the DMV, the ER, air travel — and solving for humans first can decrease waste and bring about positive change. This session encourages attendees to place the horse (people) in front of the cart (technology) and make cool stuff people actually use.
