Virtual exchange is a powerful educational tool for its ability to open a young persons eyes by connecting them with a peer on the other side of the globe.
We live in an era of information overload, where we resort to lazy stereotypes and platitudes about the "other" - but perhaps its when we truly connect with someone who is "different" than we are, do we realize how close we are as brothers and sisters.
In this talk, I want to capture the essence of virtual exchange and how educators have used it to build empathy and human connection across borders to help students learn about one another, and learn with one another.
