Design for End of Life: Build Sustainable Products

Landfills are overflowing with trash, oceans are swimming in plastics. Despite more common household items becoming eco-friendly and a general public seeking to reduce its carbon footprint, the world’s newest innovations often become tomorrow’s waste weighing on the future of our planet. This consciousness-raising panel will explore the role product designers and manufacturers have in creating with end-of-life in mind. What types of materials should be used? Does the global trade war impact recyclability? This panel of prominent design and build thinkers will explore how to create responsibly in a product-driven world, and who should bear the burden of sustainability, materials use, fair labor practices, and more.
